It has now been a few months since I’ve actually had anything new to write… and I have to say that I’m starting to go crazy. Yes, the editing process has begun to move forward again (I’m now in between a third and halfway through my first draft), and yes, I technically have started a new project (though it’s set in the same universe and in the same time frame). But in all honesty, the itching has started to come into both my hands and brain for something entirely new to work on.
I don’t have a problem writing in the same universe as my trilogy (in fact I quite love this little world of messiness I’ve created); I just want a new story. New characters, new settings, new plot, just something to get the intense creative juices flowing throughout my veins again. It’s been far too long since I’ve felt that amazing feeling.
That feeling… it’s something you can’t describe to someone who hasn’t ever felt it. It’s completely encapsulating, filling every single part of you up to the brim, so you’re to the point where you’re waiting to explode. My words don’t do it justice, but then again, I don’t believe any words could ever.
If you’re a writer – or any type of creator for that matter – you’ll understand what I mean.
All I want to do is just feel that amazing feeling once again.
I guess that means I’m going to have to start brainstorming the next New York Times best-seller.
Wish me luck.
